Distance Teacher Training in Periods of Emergency (COVID-19 Pandemic)

The closing of schools at the beginning spring 2020 in Greece highlighted need for school distance education to make up lost teaching time and maintain learners’ contact with educational process other members community. However, teachers needed support this urgent situation since they did not have previous experience education. Laboratory Advanced Teaching Technologies Lifelong Learning Distance Education (E-Learning Lab) University Crete attempted contribute its own means these teachers. Within framework, fast-paced, seminars were designed implemented on pedagogical issues A total 20 training conducted from 19 March 29 April 2020, which more than 40 000 primary secondary participated. overall presentation assessment actions showed only enormous interest community but also such actions. paper proposes that particular emphasis should be placed principles methodology education, synchronous asynchronous learning environments, design lesson plans based approaches compatible learning.
